4th of July Activities

I really love the 4th of July. It is a holiday that you celebrate the founding fathers and how they wrote the Declaration of Independence to help us become a new country. Now on the 4th of July, we have barbecues and go out with friends. We go to the store and buy fire crackers.

Then at night, you go   out and enjoy the   elaborate designs and   patterns that the   fireworks make. Then   you go home and   watch some TV and go   to bed. That is not the   case for me. I do things very, much differently. First of all, I do things normally on the 4th of July in the morning. I have breakfast regularly. Then for the entire day I pretty much relax.

My parents don’t really celebrate the 4th of July because they are not from the country. They are both from Jamaica. At night we go out on the porch and see the fireworks. Five different firework shows are going on at the same time. Then after that we go to Olive Garden either before the show or after.  That is what we do on the Fourth of July. – Morgan Johnson

When the 4th of July comes around the corner, me and my family helps cook and season the meat. We make macaroni salad, ribs, roasted chicken, hamburgers, veggie burgers, hotdogs, lemonade, and party mix.

My mom brings her job rocker and she loves to bring snacks, water, and other stuff that we can eat and drink. She takes us to the park before we watch the fireworks. She lets us do whatever we want to do. Then, since we are so hungry, she takes us to Golden Corral. Since it is a buffet, we get to pick out what food we want. We ate for an hour and then she said, “Let’s go and watch the fireworks.”

We brought our picnic blanket and set up the food and the snacks. We were in Maplewood Memorial Park. The fireworks were so pretty that I was speechless. It must've cost so much money to see the fireworks. I am so happy that my mom took me to see the fireworks.

Everyone was so tired except for the kids. After that we separated and went our own ways. My mom brought some pop-its, which are things that you throw on the ground it makes a noise. We also got sparklers, which you put fire on and it looks like fireworks in your hand. – Sheridan Yearns
